Ring joint gaskets (RTJs) are meticulously crafted metallic gaskets intended to establish a robust seal in high-pressure settings. They are commonly employed in situations where conventional gaskets may fail due to severe pressure and temperature variations. These gaskets come in two main cross-sectional configurations—oval and octagonal. While both designs are effective, octagonal ring joint gaskets provide superior sealing efficiency owing to their larger contact area with the flange.
Our spiral wound gaskets are created by spirally winding a preformed metal strip along with filler material onto the outer edge of metal winding mandrels. This technique results in a combination of metal and non-metallic layers that are continuously wound until the desired outer diameter is reached. The outcome is a highly resilient and durable spiral gasket that effectively maintains a seal even under varying pressure and temperature conditions. Compatible with flange closures across a wide temperature spectrum, from cryogenic levels to approximately 2000°F, and pressure ratings reaching up to 2500 psi, our spiral wound metallic gasket is designed to endure extreme operational conditions. Their inherent flexibility and recovery properties render them more resilient than other metallic gaskets, ensuring reliable performance under fluctuating loads.
Spiral wound gaskets, among the most commonly utilized types of semi-metallic gaskets, are engineered to endure extreme temperatures and pressures. They are composed of metallic windings, typically crafted from stainless steel grades such as 304, 316, and 321, known for their corrosion resistance and high-temperature capabilities, along with filler materials like asbestos or graphite, with graphite being favoured for high-temperature scenarios. An outer centring ring made of carbon steel ensures proper alignment, while an inner ring is included for vacuum applications to prevent inward collapse. The selection of ring material is made with careful consideration of compatibility with the process fluid. These gaskets are recommended for flange face finishes ranging from 63 to 250 AARH, providing a secure and leak-free seal.
